Do you often go shopping in markets or in supermarkets?

● I always go shopping in a supermarket because they offer a variety of products. 

● I always find what I want in a traditional market just next to my apartment.

What are the advantages of shopping in traditional markets?

● I love the fact that shopping in a market gives us a sense of community.

● The foods sold in traditional markets are often new and fresh as they are preserved in ice.

Why don’t many people like to shop in traditional markets?

● Because they always have to bargain to get the right price of the merchandise.

● The items sold here do not have good quality, so people may not get the bang for the buck.

How can we benefit from shopping in supermarkets?

● In modern supermarkets, there is a wide range of items coming from many parts of the world for fastidious buyers.

● Sometimes, many supermarkets have their own promotion programs and flash sales, which helps customers pick up a bargain.

Do supermarkets have any downsides?

● I hate the fact that you have to stand in a queue for hours to wait for paying.

● I’m afraid not since foods in supermarkets are usually frozen, so they are definitely not as tasty and succulent as fresh foods.

Do you agree that as our society develops, supermarkets become more important?

● Yes, we are gradually not using banknotes anymore and only supermarkets offer many methods of payment namely cash, internet banking, etc.

● Yes, people are getting busier and busier, and the door-to-door service in supermarkets is the solution for the problem that: you don’t have time for direct shopping.

Do you think that there will be more supermarkets and less markets in the future?

● I believe so because supermarkets are modern forms of shopping and more supermarkets are opened as the economy develops. 

● Never! As people need to pay the property cost and tax in supermarkets, items here may cost them a pretty penny and many people can’t afford them.

Do you think that in the future there will be a new way of shopping that can replace both?

● Of course, technology is staggeringly developing and I believe there will soon be a new way of shopping that can solve all the problems of the two.

● As the time goes by, those two ways of shopping will become obsolete, and sooner or later, there will be something invented to replace them.
