Which year are you in at university?

● I’m currently a sophomore studying at Hanoi Foreign Trade University.

What did you do to acquaint yourself with university life?

● Right after I decided to pursue tertiary education, I planned to adjust to independent living so that I can get used to this new life soon.

● I developed the habit of keeping my day to a suitable and strict timetable, so that I can manage my time well.

What happens if we fail to orientate ourselves at university?

● You will feel overwhelmed with the entirely different ways of studying at universities, and you will be fallen behind.

● You will lose your heart soon as you can’t keep up with your peers who are changing all the time to develop themselves.

Are there any tips that can help students get used to this new environment more quickly?

● Before officially attending school, you can take a university preparation course so as to be well-prepared for a new journey awaiting you.

● Look at your friends who have successfully adapted to this environment to draw lessons for yourself.

Who can help if you are overwhelmed by getting exposed to these entirely new surroundings? 

● You can consult your seniors for what they have done and follow suit to find out if their methods work for you.

● You can ask your teacher for help. As they used to be in your shoes, they will certainly be able to give sound advice to take.

How can we benefit from managing to adapt to university life soon?

● We are not likely to study effectively while suffering from shock. Therefore, quick adaptation can help you improve your academic achievement

● Quick adaptation helps us take an early lead over opponents in our career path.
